I began engraving glass as a hobby in 2006. My father used to carve wood and it was from him that I learnt how to handle a flexible drive drill and play with depth. As a child I used to help him with his wood sculptures, but I then felt the need to try something different: glass. I have always been fascinated by its properties of reflecting light, its transparency and all its different ways of shining. What I realised from my experience as an engraver is indeed that working with glass means first of all playing with light. All of my pieces try to incorporate this concept; by exploiting unique drawings, created according to my taste or especially developed according to my friends' ideas, I try to give glass a personality on its own and, in a certain way, to bring my creations to life.
