The Guild provides an insight into contemporary Glass Engraving. It aims to promote the highest standards of glass engraving. The website contains techniques, a gallery of members engraved glass, where to see it and where to learn to engrave.
We are currently making small stained glass panels in our workdays – with expert tuition from John Hockton, one of our Branch members. It’s a very interesting project as we try to combine painting and engraving, exploring new ways to bring colour into our work.
We meet on a monthly basis but we have a break over the summer, so our next meeting will be Tuesday 3 September 2019. Then we will meet on 1 October (with Chris Ainslie), 5 November, 3 December (Christmas lunch), 4 February, 3 March, and then our AGM on 7 April 2020. Updates on our events can be found on our Facebook page (Stourbridge and Midlands branch, Guild of Glass Engravers).
Our Branch generally meets on the first Tuesday of the month at the White House Cone – Museum of Glass, High St., Wordsley, Stourbridge DY8 4FA from 10.30am – 4pm.
New members and visitors are always welcome. For further details, please get in touch with Margaret Foster.
